Diastasis recti and why you need to check and see if you have it:
Chances are if you've had kids, you might have some degree of diastasis recti, which is the separation of the abdominal muscles along with the widening and thinning of the linea alba ( fibrous tissue that is in between the abdominal muscles).* But having some degree of diastasis doesn't mean you can't resolve it and bounce back stronger.
In this interview, personal trainer Lorraine Scapens explains what Diastasis Recti is and what to do if you have it. She also discusses ways women can heal and strengthen their pelvic floor, while addressing what things to look out for both in the postpartum period as well as years after giving birth.
